What happens with a positive result?
Presumptive positive drug screens are recorded confidentially and sent for laboratory confirmation. A breath alcohol screen of 0.020 or higher is confirmed with a second evidential breath test after a 15-minute wait, and a confirmed result of 0.040 or higher is positive. No certificate is issued for a positive result. Lab-confirmed results typically within 48–72 hours (business days, Monday to Friday excluding holidays).
